The health caravans of the Association Against Tuberculosis and Endemic Diseases (ACTUME) were born from the observation of a glaring lack of care suffered by the populations of the municipality of Tékane in Mauritania. They have made it possible to treat 17,000 patients. In addition, the problem of access to medicines arose after the caravans because of the distance from the points of sale but also of their cost. It was therefore necessary to set up a community pharmacy and solidarity within the community.

Nouakchott, March 9, 2019 Created on November 18, 2002, the association ACTUME (Association Against Tuberculosis and Endemic Diseases) based in Bordeaux, operates in France and Mauritania in the field of health.
After more than two years of work, ACTUME launches in Tékane, from April, the start of work to set up the solidarity community pharmacy. This is the result of a reflection born from experience in the field.
Access to medicines is a major problem in the municipality of Tékane. Thus, this pharmacy will solve the problem of access to medicines from which the population of the municipality suffers due to financial insecurity.

The 10th edition of the caravan of Tekane whose theme "Together for universal health coverage" took place from 23 to February 25, 2018 in the town of Tekane.
The total number of consultations for the three sites is 2141 patients, distributed as follows: Tékane: 1584 ; Sokam El Cheikh: 300 and Niakware: 257.

The reality is such that our action is only a drop in the sea ", has indicated Oumar Diagne from the Association NDiawane shores of Tékane, during the press conference review of the health caravan which took place simultaneously from February 17 to 19, in Maghama and Tékane.
The Association Against Tuberculosis and Endemic Diseases (ACTUME) will organize February 17 to 19, 2017, a health caravan in the communes of Maghama and Tékane in Mauritania.
You have responded favorably to the call for donations and volunteers launched by our association for the benefit of our “Health Caravan in Maghama and Tékane in Mauritania” project. The amount collected is 28212€. We thank you warmly for your outpouring of solidarity.
This event brought together both Maghama and Tékane more than 100 health professionals. The specialties covered are among others: General Medicine, Dermatology, Stomatology, Cardiology, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, Diabetology (Glycemia), HIV-AIDS and Nutrition.
