logo rivages ndiawane Association NDiawane shores of Tékane was created in February 2002 in Limoges (87) by Mauritanian nationals living in France (from the village of Tekane, south of Mauritania), and some French friends from Limousin. The association is governed by the law of July 1, 1901.

The main objective of the association is to support the economic, social and cultural development of the village of Tékane (aid for education, aid for farmers, aid for cultural activities).

Actions made

Since its creation, the association Rivages NDiawane has carried out several actions directly concerning the improvement of the living conditions of the inhabitants of Tékane. Among these actions we can cite:

  • 2015 : construction of the agricultural park - Cooperative des Femmes de Tékane
  • 2013 : construction of a documentation center including a library and a computer room.
  • 2009 : closing of the Tékane primary school and construction of a classroom.
  • 2008-2010 : the funding of award ceremonies to the most deserving students at the end of each school year (primary school).
  • 2008 : the collection and sending of a thousand books following a donation from Guy de Maupassant college in Limoges for the Tékane school.
  • 2005-2010 : the financing of tutoring courses for pupils in difficulty.
  • 2006 : the allocation of a sum of 400,000 MU (1,200 euros) to the village farmers' cooperative for the purchase of seed and diesel in the form of micro-credit.
  • 2003-2004 : rehabilitation of classrooms in the village school: renovation of school premises (painting, refurbishment) and supply of equipment (tables, chairs).
